Fortify Rights is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to defending human rights in Southeast Asia. It focuses on investigating human rights violations, engaging with influential stakeholders, and strengthening the capacity of human rights defenders. The organization employs a three-pillar approach: investigating abuses through in-depth research, engaging with government officials and media to promote evidence-based solutions, and providing training and support to activists and communities. Since its inception in Myanmar in 2013, Fortify Rights has produced significant reports and engaged in advocacy efforts addressing issues such as genocide, attacks on women human rights defenders, and human trafficking. The organization holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and operates with a diverse board of directors and a commitment to strong governance practices. Its mission is to ensure accountability for perpetrators and provide protections for survivors and defenders in the region.
