How we cover the field we operate in
Editorial neutrality
Messe Atlas covers competitor events alongside Messe Asia's own events with equal rigor. Neutrality is the moat. The moment competitor events get hidden, the platform dies. Messe Asia (the events business) accepts that the platform layer surfaces all competitors because owning the meta-layer is the bigger prize than steering the directory.
When the Briefing or a report covers a Messe Asia property, the byline or sidebar discloses it. When data on a Messe Asia event is comparable to data on a competitor event, both get published.
Conflicts of interest
- Messe Asia properties are disclosed in the byline or sidebar of any piece that references them.
- Sponsored content is always labeled and visually distinct from editorial. Sponsorships never affect directory inclusion or coverage decisions.
- No journalist accepts gifts or hospitality worth more than $50 from a covered entity.
- Annual conflicts disclosure published at this URL once we have a Content Director and external contributors on the masthead.
Corrections policy
- Errors are corrected within 24 hours of detection during business days.
- Material errors get a published correction note at the head of the affected piece. We don't silently edit substantive content.
- Updated / Corrected / Retracted status is visible to readers inline.
- Send corrections to corrections@messeatlas.com.
Right of reply
When a piece is critical of a named organization, we offer a right of reply before publication when feasible. The subject's response is published alongside the piece, unedited within reason.
Anonymous sources
Used sparingly and only when information is genuinely unavailable on the record. Two-source verification minimum. Sourcing is documented internally and made available to legal counsel if challenged.
Data and methodology
Every numeric claim Atlas makes is tied to a methodology page that documents how the metric is computed. If we don't have a methodology, we don't publish the metric.
What we don't do
- Buy backlinks. Ever.
- Republish AI-generated copy as editorial.
- Place sponsored content in the lead-story slot of the Briefing. Sponsorship lives at the bottom slot, clearly labeled.
- Hide unfavorable coverage of advertisers.
- Apply our standard B2B enrichment pipeline to the adult vertical from shared accounts. Adult-vertical contact intelligence runs on a separately-isolated stack with its own provider relationships and consent requirements.
