Common questions before you commit

What's actually included in the free tier?
Public directory access for companies and events, the weekly Atlas Briefing newsletter, every event profile page with editions and sponsors, the dictionary and methodology pages, and gated downloads of the flagship reports. No reveal credits — verified contact details unlock starting at the Starter tier.
How do reveal credits work?
Each paid tier comes with a monthly allocation of reveal credits. Spending one credit unlocks the verified contact details (email, LinkedIn, current title and company) for one person in the directory. Credits reset monthly; unused credits don't roll over. Need more than the monthly allocation? Add-on credit packs are available — see the Add-on credits section below. Bulk-reveal flow lets you spend many credits in one confirm step.
Why is signup behind a sales call?
We're onboarding the first cohort manually so we can match each customer with the right tier, the right reveal volume, and the right pilot scope. Once paid tiers go GA (Q4 2026 / Q1 2027), self-service signup opens up with Stripe Checkout. Until then, a 15-minute conversation gets you faster onboarding and bespoke trial scope.
How does Atlas compare to Apollo or RocketReach?
Apollo and RocketReach are general B2B contact databases. Atlas is purpose-built for the global event economy — exhibitor lists, sponsorship deals, attendee personas, edition-over-edition movement, venue and organizer relationships. We pay a Pro-tier price because the data domain is narrower and deeper, not because we're trying to be a cheaper Apollo.
Can I switch tiers later?
Yes, at any billing cycle. No contracts, no lock-in for Starter and Team. Enterprise typically signs an annual MSA with negotiated rates and renewal terms — that's a discussion during the sales call, not a forced upgrade.
Where does the data come from?
Public event websites and conference programmes, official event programmes and exhibitor lists, licensed B2B enrichment providers for contact details on revealed records, and manual operator review for canonical entity merging. Every numeric claim Atlas publishes links back to a methodology page documenting the source and any caveats.
Is the contact data PIPL / PDPA / GDPR compliant?
Yes. Atlas runs a public per-jurisdiction data-request flow at /privacy/request with statutory windows tracked per region. Erasure execution anonymizes downstream engagement records on completion. Sensitivity tiers per region inform which data surfaces are gated and when.
Do you offer an API?
Yes. Service-token REST endpoints expose the canonical company, event, person, and edition graph. An MCP server lets Claude, Cursor, and custom AI agents query the data layer directly. Available on Starter (rate-limited), Team, and Enterprise tiers. Read-only by default, scoped by token, audit-logged on every call.
How does multi-seat billing work?
Starter, Team, and Enterprise tiers are priced per seat. Sales provisions your workspace with the right seat count and invites your admins; from there your admins manage seat additions in /studio. Invitations are scoped to the same email domain by default. Annual billing with PO is available on Team and Enterprise.
