The Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) is a major international professional research association, bringing together practitioners and academics with an interest in tourism research. Founded in the USA over 40 years ago, TTRA today has Chapters in North America, Canada, Europe and now the Asia-Pacific. With over 50 years of experience, TTRA is the go-to source for evidence-based, global travel and tourism data and analysis. This year marks the 11th TTRA conference for the Asia Pacific Chapter, which incorporates a wide geographic area, from Australia and New Zealand through the Pacific nations, Asia, India, and parts of the Middle East. Hosted by Dusit Thani College, the TTRA Asia Pacific Annual Chapter Conference 2024, will take place from November 30 to December 3, 2024, at Dusit Thani College, Bangkok, Thailand. Aligning with the UNWTO’s theme, this year’s conference is devoted to “Tourism and Travel Sustainable Transformations in the Asia Pacific.” As travel and tourism continue to evolve amidst wider geopolitical unrest, financial pressures, and human resource constraints, rapid technological advances necessitate the need for travel and tourism research to readjust and reassess new markets, business models, and prospects. The conference will also feature insightful workshops, research symposia, keynote speeches, panel discussions, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore emerging trends, innovative business models, and sustainable practices in the travel and tourism industry.
