The Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA) is a regional human rights organization established in 1991 in Manila, Philippines. With 85 member organizations across 23 Asian countries, it is dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights, including the right to development. The organization focuses on advocacy, research, capacity building, and solidarity actions to support human rights defenders and foster collaboration among its members. FORUM-ASIA operates several specialized programs, including initiatives for human rights defenders, regional advocacy in East Asia and ASEAN, and support for national human rights institutions. It also manages communication and media strategies to raise awareness and build support for human rights issues in Asia. The organization has a consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and maintains offices in Bangkok, Geneva, Jakarta, and Kathmandu. Its vision is to create a peaceful and equitable society where human rights are respected and sustainable development is prioritized.
